Default When opening Internet Explorer, or Windows Explorer

a "Preparing to Install window pops up briefly three or four times. A
previous post pointed me to the Office application problem. Let me be clear
here, this has nothing to do with my Office applications. They all open up
just fine. It is only for my Network Neighborhood, Control Panel,
Printeroptions, Internet Explorer, (Firefox opens just fine) and my Windows
Explorer. I have swept my system for malware, adware, spyware and viruses
and have software watching for all of them with up to date definitions. I
have done the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility and made sure I have the
latest version of Installer (not convinced this is a Installer problem at
this point).

Anyone have a clue out there?
