Hi,
Unfortunately the repair install option is not availiable (I've tried the remedies for this problem suggested in the article). Windows was pre-installed (OEM), and I have a recovery disk which will delete everything on my c: harddrive. That is not an option either since I will loose valuable data. I have one more question though: I recently installed a new harddrive of which I made two partitions with NFTS filesystem. One of the partitions is empty while the other has data on it. If I installed a second windows xp on the empty partition, so I can access windows and backup my data: will this delete the data on the other partition of the new harddrive? ( A little hard to explain, hoped you understood =) Regards, Ole Chr. Hi,
I am not sure if the OEM recovery disk will allow you to install to a partition other than C:. You may want to check with the manufacturer or the CD. -- Regards, Bert Kinney MS-MVP Shell/User http://bertk.mvps.org OCM wrote: > Hi, > > Unfortunately the repair install option is not availiable (I've tried > the remedies for this problem suggested in the article). Hi,
I have antoher xp cd with license so I don't need to use the OEM recovery cd. If it works, it will not affect the other partition? With that CD, I would suggest doing a repair install first using these
instructions.
