Please can anyone help with a progressive "breaking down" of my Outlook
Express? The first symptom was when I lost the facility to highlight a message, right click it and "move to folder". I now can only do that by dragging. Then it stopped allowing me to create new folders. In both these cases I click the mouse in the normal manner and absolutely nothing happens. Things started getting really bad when it stopped recognising my password when connecting to my ISP (Alice). Approximately every 3 weeks, it tells me that the password is wrong. I then go to Tools --> Accounts and add a new account with exactly the same details including password, delete the original account - i.e. substitute the old one for exactly the same thing, and everything is fine again (for about 3 weeks). Finally it has started withholding mail altogether. According to Send and receive, I have no mail, but if I set up another account (with exactly the same details as the old one) It immediately downloads new mail. BUT.. I have suddenly gone from receiving dozens of Spam to receiving none at all. Ideal perhaps, except that this appears to have nothing to do with my Sapnkiller ( McAfee). All in all I am completely fed up with it. Is there a way of uninstalling and reinstalling a clean version without losing my address book and current saved mail? Thanks in advance-- Markatk |
