That's the error message I get on startup. I tried going thru the
instructions on the Microsoft website at http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;307545 but can't get past the first step in the Recovery Consol of typing "md tmp" because it says "access denied". In six years I've never used a password on this computer so I don't know what the access problem could be. Honestly, since most of my important data was backed up on an external hard drive, all I want out of this are the hundreds of bookmarks I had stored on IE. If I can get those back, the whole laptop could go in the trash as far as I'm concerned! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. - Bill |
