I have found that Kazaa will not close at times even when clearing it from
the task bar. You think its closed when really its still active. Try opening the "task manager" and clicking on the "processes" tab. Scroll down the list and look for Kazaa. Right click on it and and select "end process tree" "John" wrote: > I can't get rid of Kazaa. Kazaa is a P2P client, for the most part used to obtain files and programs
illegally.. use of Kazaa will inevitably end up with you getting a virus or some other nasty on your system.. Best advice is to un-install it.. presumably, you know how to access Add/Remove Programs.. -- Mike Hall MVP - Windows Shell/User "envisage" <envisage@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0677EC31-9EAA-49C3-9092-39C19FEDA841@microsoft.com... >I have found that Kazaa will not close at times even when clearing it from > the task bar. Hi,
Here are a couple of link to assist in removing Kazaa. KazaaBegone - remove Kazaa components: http://www.spychecker.com/program/kazaagone.html KazaaBegone, of course: http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html You will also want to run a full scan for virus and malware infection. -- Regards, Bert Kinney MS-MVP Shell/User http://bertk.mvps.org envisage wrote: > I have found that Kazaa will not close at times even when clearing it > from the task bar. The uninstall for Kazaa in Add/Remove Programs is fraudulent and should
never be run. It reloads various spyware components. KazaaBegone from http://www.spychecker.com/program/kazaagone.html should be used. Once Kazaa has been installed there is an extensive selection of malware on the computer. KazaaBegone should be followed additional scans with, at a minimum, the following Ad-Aware - http://www.lavasoftusa.com Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/ CWShredder - http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html It is also advisable to install SpywareBlaster for ongoing protection from http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html -- "Mike Hall (MS-MVP)" <mikehalll@mvps.org> wrote in message news:%23feZ81iCGHA.3984@TK2MSFTNGP14.phx.gbl... > Kazaa is a P2P client, for the most part used to obtain files and programs > illegally.. use of Kazaa will inevitably end up with you getting a virus > or some other nasty on your system.. > > Best advice is to un-install it.. presumably, you know how to access > Add/Remove Programs.. > > -- > Mike Hall > MVP - Windows Shell/User > > > "envisage" <envisage@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:0677EC31-9EAA-49C3-9092-39C19FEDA841@microsoft.com... >>I have found that Kazaa will not close at times even when clearing it from >> the task bar.
