Default trouble at start up.

My computer keeps searching for a disk at start up but it wont say which drive.
after i click cancel about 6 times it goes away.
I have 2 removable hard drives.
With one installed it loads fine with the other it has the above error.
Is there a way to find out what it is looking for and stop it?
thanx for any help.
