Within the past week I've been having a problem with the Welcome
Screen appearing and asking me to log in or click on my account name before it takes me to my desktop. I've never had this before. when I first turned on my computer it just said Welcome and went directly to my desktop. It never showed computer accounts and asked me to click one on in order to get to my desktop. Also, when the computer is idle for a while and I wake it up-- the Welcome screen comes back, tells me I have "X" number of programs running, and I have to click on the user account to get to my desktop. I went to Start, Run and typed in control userpasswords2, clicked ok and when the user account window opened up, unchecked the box which states"users must enter a username and password to use this computer, and clicked apply. I was requested for the user name and password on the acct to automatically logon. Did this. Then I went to the advanced tab to disable asp.net but a message appeared that told me "this snap in may not be used with Win XP home edition" How can I eliminate this screen and just go to the desktop when I boot up the computer -- the way I did before? -- RB |

Then, under the "Logon" section, remove the "check-marks" for each/every user account you do not want to see on the "Welcome" screen. -- --- Y. |
