My friend has an external address book he cant live without, but the software
will not run under WinXP even in compatibility mode though it worked under his old Win98. He has a Dell 4700C which can boot from a USB device and he has a Western Digital 80G USB Hard Drive. Can we put Win98 on the USB Drive, have the computer boot from the drive and have access to Win98? Will Win98 boot once the drive is accessed or is there a command line which must be entered? I seem to remember that the older Windows had a start command or something. Any help with this or other ideas to get to Win98 would be greatly appreciated. We prefer not to use Partition Magic on the computer's hard drive as XP uses NTFS and I believe 98 needs FAT32. |
