folders change to read only

Default folders change to read only

all my folders have suddenly become read only.I can uncheck the read only box
but when I click on ok it canges back to read only

Hi

That's the way XP works. It doesn't effect the files in those folders
though.

files is there any way I can change it back

Hi

Have you installed any software that might have made the change? If not,
try a System Restore back to a point before the problem started.

That the folders are marked "readonly" is not the cause of whatever problem
you are having. All folders on all XP systems are readonly.

Many thanks Will I think you hit the nail on the head there. I've removed a
program and replaved a few folders and everything is working now. Thanks a
lot for your help
