When I'm trying to display this page: http://www.screamproductions.com/ns/weblog.php?id=P115 I get an annoying error message "The XML page cannot be displayed Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later. " I can of course always view it in Opera, but still... |

If the page is XML and you had a program that ignored XML it would display... nothing. IE thinks there is an error on the page, one which it cannot work around. Discussions about whether Explorer or Opera is the right or wrong one aren't going to solve anything, so I'm afraid that there probably isn't much else you can do besides continue to view it in Opera... while possibly writing to the page author! |

Hi,
It will not open in IE here either. I suspect there's some bad code on the page. It will open in Firefox. When IE doesn't understand how to interpret a properly formatted XML file (as a RSS feed should be) it just opens it as a raw unformatted XML file. In this case, IE is trying to parse the XML to decide what to do with it, and is detecting an error. IE is quite leniant in its handling of HTML errors in that it ignores them and parses the rest of the page, but quite strict in its handling of XML errors in that it halts all processing of the page and displays an error. This is what the OP is reporting. -- -- Rob Moir Website - http://www.robertmoir.co.uk Virtual PC 2004 FAQ - http://www.robertmoir.co.uk/win/VirtualPC2004FAQ.html Kazaa - Software update services for your Viruses and Spyware. |

Keeping in mind how old and tired IE6 is, they probably didn't do a very good job of implementing the xhtml and xml parsers compared to all those other products mentioned that have been updated loads of times since then. Again, another reason firefox is my primary browser! |
