yesterday my computer screen went blue and said that spyware has infected my
computer. I downloaded the sbc/yahoo spyware protector and Zone Alarm
firewall. Now, everything is slow, my computer screen went white, then I
tried to reboot and it showed my old background but no icons or start bar.
It was just blank. It seemed to be working, but there was nothing on the
screen except the mouse pointer. Please help me get it back to normal

Boot into safe mode (by usually pressing F8 at startup) and uninstall any
installed software that you put on before your software problems. Make sure
you have Windows Service Pack 2 installed (it has a built in firewall) and
your antivirus software and definitions are up to date.

If you want a good anti-spyware software, I've been impressed with
Microsoft's Anti-Spyware software (free for now):
