Default System Restore

Hi guys
I have a problem with system restore (WinXP),

Whenever i try to enable or disable system restore on any selected HD i
get an error saying:
System restore encountered an error trying to enable/disable one or more
drives. Please restart your machine and try again.

If i try to run System Restore form Sys tools menu i get the following:
System Restore is not able to protect your computer. Please restart your
computer, and then run system restore again.

The event viewer gives me the following whenever i try to enable/disable
or use system restore:

Event Type: Error

Hi,

I would suggest reinstalling System Restore. In the process all existing
restore points will be lost.

How to reinstall System Restore:
