Hi guys
I have a problem with system restore (WinXP), Whenever i try to enable or disable system restore on any selected HD i get an error saying: System restore encountered an error trying to enable/disable one or more drives. Please restart your machine and try again. If i try to run System Restore form Sys tools menu i get the following: System Restore is not able to protect your computer. Please restart your computer, and then run system restore again. The event viewer gives me the following whenever i try to enable/disable or use system restore: Event Type: Error Event Source: SRService Event Category: None Event ID: 104 Date: 29/12/2005 Time: 09:38:29 User: N/A. Computer: ANUBIS Description: The System Restore initialization process failed. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. Data: 0000: 4f 05 00 00 O... For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. Hi,
I would suggest reinstalling System Restore. In the process all existing restore points will be lost. How to reinstall System Restore: http://bertk.mvps.org/html/tips.html#ReinstallSR -- Regards, Bert Kinney MS-MVP Shell/User http://bertk.mvps.org Icerat wrote: > Hi guys > I have a problem with system restore (WinXP), > > Whenever i try to enable or disable system restore on any selected HD > i get an error saying: > System restore encountered an error trying to enable/disable one or > more drives.
