Default desktop wall paper

I seem to have aquired a second wall paper that is on top of the wall paper
that I have chosen. I have tried the everything such as going to Controll
panel and display settings. I can change my desk top back ground but the
second wall paper still covers it up and it wont go away. Never seen anything
like it. Please help

Hi,
This may be some "web content" that you've installed. Run the pointer slowly
across the top edge of the image. Does an "X" appear that would close the
image? Try the other edges.

Look at Control Panel> Display> Desktop> Customize> Web, if anything's
listed under Webpages, uncheck it.

If you didn't install this, it may have been installed by malware. Download,
update and run Ad-aware, Spybot and (if running WinXP) MS Anti-Spyware
(Beta.)

Download SmitFraud.exe from the URL --
http://www.ik-cs.com/programs/virtools/SmitFraud.exe

Execute; SmitFraud.exe { Note: You must accept the default of C:\McAfee }
Choose; Unzip
Choose; Close

NOTE: You may have to disable your software FireWall or allow WGET.EXE to go through your
FireWall to enable WGET.EXE to download the needed McAfee related files.

Execute; c:\mcafee\clean.bat
{ or Double-click on 'Clean Link' in c:\mcafee }

A final report in HTML format called C:\mcafee\ScanReport.HTML will be generated. At the
end of the scan, it will be displayed in your browser (Opera, FireFox or Internet Explorer).
It is suggested that you move the report out of c:\mcafee before performing another scan.

It is suggested that you perform Normal Mode then a Safe Mode scan.

Just a shot in the dark here, but do you have Active Desktop enabled?

The SmitFraud was the only thing that worked. When I first ran it I got a
great big error message and it shut down my computer. after restarting my
computer I shut down my fire wall and ran it again and got an error message
again but my computer was still on with no change. I was allowed to change
my desktop them after that, which I couldt do before, so I changed it to
windows xp and it reset it self. Thank you for your help
