Im using XP pro SP2 and IE6.This computer is connected to the internet via a
dlink router.I have a 2003 SBS also connected to this router for Internet access to the server.I have always had a problem adjusting Internet security settings in server. However my stand alone computer(not server) has never been a member of the domain. Now I have the same problem with my stand alone computer. When I attempt to change Internet zone security settings it says" Error Recomended setting is medium, please select setting higher than this.It doesnt matter what account I use ie.Admin or user it will not allow a lower setting. In fact other users wont go below a setting of High. The server should not effect this computer although I get the same symptoms with Server.Where are these settings in the registry? and or how are they Changed. Why would the computer suddenly disallow changeing of security settings below a certain level??There has been no other intervention or changes.Any help would be appreciated.Thank You |

Hi Rodney,
SMS 2003 is by default more secure. WinXP SP2 will not allow lower than Medium. Try clicking Custom Level. -- Thanks D "Rodney" wrote: > Im using XP pro SP2 and IE6.This computer is connected to the internet via a > dlink router.I have a 2003 SBS also connected to this router for Internet > access to the server.I have always had a problem adjusting Internet security > settings in server. However my stand alone computer(not server) has never been > a member of the domain. Now I have the same problem with my stand alone > computer. When I attempt to change Internet zone security settings it says" > Error Recomended setting is medium, please select setting higher than this.It > doesnt matter what account I use ie.Admin or user it will not allow a lower > setting. In fact other users wont go below a setting of High. The server should > not effect this computer although I get the same symptoms with Server.Where > are these settings in the registry? and or how are they Changed. Why would the > computer suddenly disallow changeing of security settings below a certain > level??There has been no other intervention or changes.Any help would be > appreciated.Thank You |
