I have recently run into problems with saving files. In the first instance I
was using a web service which produces pdf reports, however it doesn't create
a file and then allow you to download it. It creates the file in memory on
the server and then streams it to you automatically (it does give you the
opportunity to select the filename and directory). However when the process
is complete I end up with no file having been saved. In the second instance I
have tried to create a file in Net Objects Fusion 9 using their site creation
wizard and it allows me to create a site and then give it a
filename/directory. Only when completed there is no file created. Similarly
with starting from a blank site except that this asks me for a file name up
front and when I give it a filename the dialogue goes away and then returns
as if it cannot create the filename. Finally if I open an existing site Net
Objects Fusion 9 lets me save the site but when completed no matter what file
name I give the site all I find is a file which consists solely of the Net
Objects Fusion 9 extension (.nod) and nothing else. I can change this name in
Windows Explorer and Net Objects Fusion 9 is happy to use it. My thinking is
that although these two instances seem related there is no connection between
the web service and Net Objects (and in fact occurred weeks apart).

So my thinking is that there is something about my system which interferes
with file creation in certain circumstances and I just cannot figure out what
that could be.

Anyone know of similar and a way out of this dilema?
