"Connection" icon no longer appears in notification area when I am connected
to the internet via modem. The only way I can disconnect is by shutting down -- Network connections does not offer "disconnect" only "connect" and "status" is greyed out. "Show icon in notification area" is CHECKED. I have tried everything suggested so far in this forum including: 1) deleting and re-installing modem driver 2) deleting and creating new connection 3) creating new user, logging off and back on 4) multiple registry "fixes" Still, no modem status icon shows up in the notification area when the modem is connected. I have seen many other folks having this EXACT same problem but no answer from MS. Any help appreciated. |
