I have used a shutdown shortcut icon set to.....
c\windows\system32\shutdown exe-s-100 for some years. All the sudden when used lately, on boot it will hang near the end of load and I have to hit reset and hit enter to "choose previous boot" or something like that to get booted. Has some update invalidated that shortcut? Don't think it screws up with 'start, shutdown' which I would have thought would have used the same routine. Glenn |

It created it ok (shutdown(2)) but clicking on it just makes the screen to flash and nothing happens. It did create it with the %something%\etc and I changed that to windows\etc as the old one reads but that changed nothing either. I did put a space before the minus's, ie shutdown space"-s" space"-t00" ok? Glenn |

No I overlooked it. I added it and it worked but on boot it still hung like the old routine. I changed the old routine to a 5 sec delay, (-t 05) and it booted ok at least this time. Some reason it seems to want more time. Why? Beats the hell out of me. ![]() |

Beats the heck outta me too but glad you solved your problem. -- Evolution54 |
