Default unwanted pop ups!

plz help. I'm running windows XP Pro, V2002, srvs pack 2. I installed some
free software for sharing files and found that it really wasn't what i wanted.
So i unstalled everything that i thought i installed. But immediately after
that stupid move, i began to receive pop-ups. My Yahoo toolbar pop up
blocker used to catch everything, now the counter for popups blocked is stuck
on the same number. I've ran Spy Bot, Adaware, TrendMicro Anti-spyare, and
CWShredder. Nothing is working. I then thought i'll just restore my system
to a previous date, when it used to work perfect. But i'm getting errors
when i try to do that! I'm looking for something else to try? I have
"hijack this" installed, but don't really know how/what it all means? any
help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Your PC is most likely infected with spyware. Visit the page below and try
one of the products.
http://www.broomeman.com/spyware/

I personally prefer Ad-Aware or SpySweeper.
