Default Failed to create empty document

I have two errors that show up that I think are related.

One is from the Microsoft Management Console when are try to open services,
device manager or other things like that. MMC - "Failed to create empty
document"

I tried the follwing article from the knowledge base but it doesn't work for
XP I guess.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/231757/en-us

The other one is when I try to print out of Internet explorer. Printing
Error - "There is not enough memory for this opertion."

Anyone know how to fix this. I know I have plenty of memory both in my disk
space and RAM. Judging from the article the two errors seem related since
they both refer to memory.
