Hi,
Whenever I try to use my microphone with my computer, and I am totally sure that the microphone is in the right jack, the computer does not recognize it, and when I try to go to "Speech Recognition" through Speech in the control panel, there is no tab for "speech recognition". There is only "text to speech". Is there any way to fix this? |

You'll then have speech recognition (for all that it's worth) in your Office applications. -- Galen - MS MVP - Windows (Shell/User & IE) http://dts-l.org/ http://kgiii.info/ "We approached the case, you remember, with an absolutely blank mind, which is always an advantage. There is only "text to > speech". Is there any way to fix this? Out of the box, XP only offers text-to-voice. It has the underpinnings for voice-to-text and voice commands. Unless software is installed that operates on those underpinnings or on its own engine, there is no voice recognition capability. Examples: If selected during Office setup, the Office programs will install voice features that use the XP underpinnings. Speech software such as Naturally Dragon Speaking provides speech features using its own engine. -- Sharon F MS-MVP ~ Windows Shell/User |
