Hi can anyone help my computer will not let any pop up through I have turned
off the pop up blocker and it still doesn't let them through. I cannot
download my virus protector as it needs pop ups and i cannot get them. It
took me 15min of contunious clicking just to get this pop up so i can add the
question. I am using xp please can anyone help.

Have you got either the Yahoo or Google Toolbars installed? Both of those
have pop-up blockers included in them - perhaps one of those is the cause?

Also if you are using a product like zone alarm security suite they have a
pop up blocker included.
I had a problem with legit popups not happening and after much mucking about
I found out that it was zone alarm that was stopping them.

Hi Denny,
Thanks I think you might have fixed it for me. I disenabled the popup
blocker from the Y toolbar and this popup came up the first time i used it.
Now I will have to work out how to get rid of the Y toolbar (or it might be
ok if i just disable it when I need too. thanks again

Thanks for your reply I don't have a zone alarm (that i know off anyway) but
I do have a Yahoo toolbar and someone else said that might be the reason so I
will try to delete it. Thanks for your time and response.

Yes, some other AV programs include a pop-up stopper as well - and one of
those could be the cause.

Hi

Both of those pop-up blockers are turned on by default and therefore have to
be manually disabled. The Yahoo Toolbar can be hidden - right click on it
and then uncheck it.
