Default system cannot find path specified

Brand new laptop for my daughter at Christmas. Windows XP Professional

Loaded AOL. Ok
Loaded AOL Firewall Ok
loaded MCAffee Viruscan OK
Loaded Office 2000 Ok

Attempted to downloadlatest version of Windows Media Player get the
following message box

MSN Messenger 7.5

error creating process. <c:\docum~1\locals~1\temp\IXP000.TMP\bootstrap.exe >.
Reason : The system cannot find the path specified.


I have had a similiar message when attempting to download XP updates too.

Any help would be appreciated.
