Dear all,
i recently installed a WD2500JD SATA Drive. It's recognized by XP Pro but it now causes a reinstallation of additional IDE Channels every start of Windows. Windows tells that the installation of primary and secondary IDE channel failed with the message "no driver provided for this platform". Well, the HDD works fine and can be used in windows but after every boot windows tells me the same error message (as discribed above). "Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility" didn't help. System: Gigabyte GA-8ISXT (OEM Fujitsu-Siemens) Intel Springdale Chipset I845 or I865PE / ICH5 P4 3.0 IDE HDD Primary Master IDE HDD Primary Slave DVD Burner Secondary Master CD Burner Secondary Slave SATA HDD (BIOS: configured as SATA0 Any hints to get rid of the error messages? sincerely, jeff |
