Default Cant seem to find found.000 directory

After a system crash I have more than 2 gigabytes in a directory called
found.000 (wen I run an antivirus it shows that directory) the problem is
that I can´t seem to find that directory that suposed to be in the
root....even if I select the option to see hidden files

Now I have more than 2 gigabytes of used space in my HD....

Where is it???? and how can I delete that folder??

Please help

chk files and the Found folders

Chkdsk saves each repaired file in the root folder as a File<nnnn>.chk file,
and each repaired folder in the root folder as a Found.<nnn> folder, where
<n> is a number.

Found.xxx folders are Hidden System folders.

Try this.

Start | Run | Type: %systemroot%\found.000 | Click OK

Do a Search for found.000

HOW TO: Search For Hidden Or System Files In Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;302347

or... To display Hidden files and folders...

Start | Settings | Control Panel | Folder Options | View tab
Check:
Display the contents of system folders
Show hidden files and folders
UNCheck:
Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)
Click Apply | Click OK

[[Hidden files and folders will appear dimmed to indicate they are not
typical items.]]

Further to the advice from Wes on how to recover the free disk space
you need to consider what caused the problem.

Look in the System log In Event Viewer for Warning and Error reports
at the time you were running chkdsk and post copies here.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools,
Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information
regarding Event ID, Source and Description are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=winxp

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. This will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report
complete with links into the message. Make sure this is the first paste
after exiting from Event Viewer.

Try HD Tune (freeware). Download and run it and see what it turns up.
http://www.hdtune.com/

Select the Info tabs and place the cursor on C:\ under Drive letter
and then double click the two page icon ( copy to
Clipboard ) and copy into a further message.

Select the Health tab and then double click the two page icon ( copy to
Clipboard ) and copy into a further message.

Also do a full surface scan with HD Tune.

Hope this helps.
