Default "INSERT A WRITABLE DISK TO CONTINUE"

I'm trying to copy pictures on my DVD-R Drive and keep getting this error:
INSERT A WRITABLE DISK TO CONTINUE

I have a writable disk in the drive and have burned picts to a CD with this
drive before. I've tried rebooting & even uninstalled the driver and
re-installed it. What next? How can I fix this? PLEASE HELP!

What media you trying to write; DVD ? If so, is it -R ?
I'm not positive on this point but if your drive is strictly
DVD-R than it will only write DVD-R media.
There's a good tool for listing drive capabilities at
www.cdspeed2000.com (freeware).
