Hi cyd,
What you have is two versions of Messenger. 4.7 is Windows Messenger and 7.5 is MSN Messenger. To prevent Windows Messenger 4.7 from loading at start up, do the following. Go to Start/Run. Type in "msmsgs" without the quotes and click OK. Click on Tools/Options - Click on the Preferences tab and uncheck the following "Run Windows Messenger when Windows start" and "Allow Windows Messenger to run in the background" then click OK.
