Hi,
How do I prevent Windows Messenger from signing in automatically? I couldn't find a setting about that anywhere. I'm using the latest version of Windows Messenger. -- Thanks, Sam |

Hi Sam,
Sign out the messenger after automatically signing in. You could remove the check mark in the Automatically sign-in checkbox. Now login in. It wont login automatically thereafter. Hi,
I did sign off after my Windows Messenger signed on automatically. I then selected sign in with different name so that I could enter my username. I typed my password and unchecked automatically sign in. After this I signed off and left my computer alone for a few minutes. When I came back my messenger automatically signed on again. This thing is possessed!!!! -- Thanks, Sam "Windows_Vista" wrote: > Hi Sam, > > Sign out the messenger after automatically signing in. Greetings Sam,
To stop this behavior, click the Start Button, then click the Control Panel. Then, click User Accounts in the Control Panel. Select the Windows account name in question, and then on the left side of the screen, under Related Tasks, click 'Manage my Network Passwords'. In the window that opens, click the Passport.Net\* (Passport) entry and click 'Remove'. This will remove the saved password within Messenger so it -can't- sign-in automatically. ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Messenger/MSN Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com All posts unless otherwise specified are (c) 2005 Jonathan Kay.
