Default Crash: MSN messenger.

I have a problem that is driving me crazy.
I did something stupid and would like to fix the problem. weellll, can't fix
the stupid part but,
I have MCE05 and was trying windows messenger 4.7 in the media center side.
i thought it was unsafe and should delete it and updtate to 5, but i forgot
to delete 4.7 before i istalled 5. so i went and tryed to delete 5 and
deleted the messenger folder. everything was deleted except the
"messenger.exe" file. that was version 5.0.
so now..i reinstalled 5. and tried to uninstall it but there isn't an option
to rollback becuase i must have removed the necessary files when i deleted
the program folder. now i get errors everytime i open msn messenger or
windows messenger.
can anyone tell me how to fix this...or get me the system files i need to
repair? i can't find them on my winxp mce discs...or don't know where to look
to install from..tried to do a restore..but it said restore cound't be done!
I can''t get that that error to stop. i get that report error screen and i
look at the problem file name and it says its msmsgs.exe version 4.07.2009,
the thing is. it's not turned ON. my msn messenger 7.5 is! i use msn premium
and everytime i log in...BAM...there's that error
any help?
thanks in advance,
the (stupid) grasshopper
