Greetings,
Usually when it crashes you'll see a more exact message in the actual conversation window -- since it's happening near the end of the transfer, you could be running out of disk space or something similar. ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Messenger/MSN Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com All posts unless otherwise specified are (c) 2005 Jonathan Kay. Hi Jonathan,
Its a relatively new laptop.... and this only happens for certain file extensions only. gif seems ok. could that be some settings in msn or window messenger that blocks certain file extensions? or due to router or firewall in that environment? Zip the file or simply change the extension and see what you get - ex.
file.exe.txt Michael "Elsie" <Elsie@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:2B401007-E6EF-4721-A359-7351DB0DCEA6@microsoft.com... > Hi Jonathan, > > Its a relatively new laptop.... and this only happens for certain file > extensions only. gif seems ok. could that be some settings in msn or > window > messenger that blocks certain file extensions? or due to router or > firewall > in that environment? > > "Jonathan Kay [MVP]" wrote: > >> Greetings, >> >> Usually when it crashes you'll see a more exact message in the actual >> conversation window -- >> since it's happening near the end of the transfer, you could be running >> out of disk space or >> something similar. >> ____________________________________________ >> Jonathan Kay >> Microsoft MVP - Windows Messenger/MSN Messenger >> Associate Expert >> http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ >> Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com >> All posts unless otherwise specified are (c) 2005 Jonathan Kay. >> You *must* contact me for redistribution rights. >> >> "Elsie" <Elsie@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >> news:29EBB39D-33DB-4FC1-9FBE-6083E82E01E8@microsoft.com... >> > hi, got a system which is slow in receiving files. and when reach the >> > end of >> > the transfer, the transfer stopped with 'error in transfer'. pls help. >> >> >> |
