First ,relax !!!
And then ,turn on Windows Firewall and all services you disabled. If you have
problems just do System Restore. Then ,try sending the file via email.
( System Restore => Start - Programs - Accessories - System tools - System
Restore)

I am not an expert on chat softwares like MSN Messenger but turning off the
firewall may not help you ,you just need an exception.

Microsoft has a special newsgroup for its Messenger and your post is now
copied into that group by me with cross-posting.

Happy holidays and happy NEW year !!!

Thanks for the tip, but it's been happening for a long time, so if i restore
it, it'll mess up a lot of other things, and i don't want to do that. I've
got msn messenger in the exceptions list and i don't understand what's wrong
with it It does work with email, but it just work with msn. I get all
other files...just anything with music doesn't work...my computer hates
me...lol.

Hi,

An exception will not help you here as the Windows Firewall is not blocking it, SP2 is.

To fix this problem, download and run the following .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/extfix.reg

You will need to reboot to see the change.
