I cannot receive voice communication when using the video connection in
Messenger 7.5. My parents in law can hear and see me fine, but I can only see them. They have tested their setup by connecting to their son and that all worked fine. When I tried connecting to him, we had the same problem. It does seem to be a problem with my pc. But all my settings seem ok. I'm running Win XP pro SP2 with all patches. I can listen to video online it all works fine, I have no flagged errors in Device Manager. Any ideas would be gratefully recieved. Thanks -- Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life |

Greetings Richard,
Have you tried using audio on its own without the video? ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Messenger/MSN Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com All posts unless otherwise specified are (c) 2005 Jonathan Kay. Thanks for your reply
No, I haven't tried voice, I didn't realise I could. However some months ago I took part in some Skype testing for my work and they were successful. I used a headset with built in mike for that. Hi Jonathan
Have now tried voice communication with strange results. Using a headset I can hear them and can speak and be heard. If I use a webcam for Voice, I can speak and be heard, but can't hear them. The same as using the web cam on Video connections. However I have discovered that if I start a video conversation and after its accepted. I invite them to view web cam, when thats accepted, I invite to receive a web cam. After that we can hear and speak together. Although the connection is very slow and the sounds are disjointed at times. Very strange. Any ideas? Thanks -- Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life "Jonathan Kay [MVP]" wrote: > Greetings Richard, > > Have you tried using audio on its own without the video? > ____________________________________________ > Jonathan Kay > Microsoft MVP - Windows Messenger/MSN Messenger > Associate Expert > http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ > Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com > All posts unless otherwise specified are (c) 2005 Jonathan Kay. > You *must* contact me for redistribution rights. > > "Richardd" <Richardd@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:0E1AFDE3-5990-47F3-BF5F-B23ED89257A3@microsoft.com... > >I cannot receive voice communication when using the video connection in > > Messenger 7.5.
