I have been trying to delete msn messenger 7.5 and I've been through many of
the web sites online which tells you how to delete it, I've meddled with the registry and I think all the messenger keys and files are deleted but I am having trouble removing it out of the add/remove programs. And another problem is when I try to re-install, an error message comes up with the code 1635. I have no idea what do now, I think I've done everything except re-formatting the computer and I don't really want to do that. Is there any way I can delete it completely and re-install msn messemger? |

Greetings,
If you grab the latest (don't try uninstalling), version from here: http://messenger.msn.com/Download and then when prompted, hit Repair, should solve the problem. However, depending on what you've done, this option may or may not be available or work. Post back if you continue to have problems. ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Messenger/MSN Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com All posts unless otherwise specified are (c) 2006 Jonathan Kay. I'm having a similar issue. I tried to upload the new 7.5 messenger and
since doing that, it seems as though I have two versions of messenger happening. I have tried the 'repair' selection and am told that there are issues with my firewall and or proxy. I've changed my firewall settings, but cannot seem to fix the problem. Please help!!!
