If I have some titles "on" selected clips (pictures) -- and then insert
another picture on the timeline, the pictures all shift, but the titles do not and end up overlaying on top of the wrong clips. Why are't these locked together -- any way to handle this? Obviously a newbie, Thanks. -- Ron Smith in Round Rock |

You should probably put your titles on after you have finished your complete
video. But, the solution is fairly easy.....on the timeline at the bottom of Movie Maker you can see the line where your titles are located...its called 'title overlay'.....all you need to do is to click on it to select it, and then drag it under the picture where you want it to be. Also, please note that when you select it, you can either increase or decrease the length of your title on the picture, by grabbing either end (arrow) and dragging it in the proper direction that you want. Good luck. Dick, Thanks for the response. I understand your suggestions -- just hoped
there was a solution I didn't know about or understand. It isn't unreasonable to have an option to lock the title text with the picture, is it. Do you have any history with MS and Movie Maker -- do you think they will keep updating this product -- do you think this is an upgrade that they might implement in the future (and I would like better control over the text options and the placement of the text on the picture). -- Ron Smith in Round Rock "dickmr" wrote: > You should probably put your titles on after you have finished your complete > video. > But, the solution is fairly easy.....on the timeline at the bottom of Movie > Maker you can see the line where your titles are located...its called 'title > overlay'.....all you need to do is to click on it to select it, and then drag > it under the picture where you want it to be. I've been using Movie Maker for quite a while. 2.1 is an upgrade from a
prior version, and I'm sure the next version with 'longhorn' will be another upgrade too. Actually, I don't think that 'locking' a title as you suggest would be a very good idea. If you are only working with pictures as in a video slide show, you could always 'hard' encode the title on your picture using your Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop, or whatever software you use by putting text as you want it, right on the picture in the precise location you want it. Then you import that picture. Another way would be to save your movie with your Movie Maker title in place, and then re-import it, if you want to continue editing by adding other media. But 'splitting' and 'inserting' would be pretty much a bothersome routine. So, the best suggestion is to just apply your titles AFTER you have completed your project....the same goes for adding audio/music. ...The more you use Movie Maker the more you will like it. I have Sony Vegas, Camtasia, Adobe Premiere and a few others, but I always come back to Movie Maker because it is so efficient (and I have tons of transitions and effects I bought so I gotta use 'em) and it is easy once you learn what it will give you. Good luck! "Ron Smith" wrote: > Dick, Thanks for the response.
