I have a Panasonic PV GS31 connected via USB 2.0
I am able to capture video but, there's a couple of issues: -When I select Configure\Video Settings I'm limited in size to 320x240. -On the Video Setting screen I am unable to select DV-AVI (the radio button is grayed out) -My device is listed as USB Video device (not Panasonic etc...) -At the video capture screen I understand there are supposed to be buttons below the preview pane for controlling my camera. None present? I have not tried to use a firewire connection is it possible that is required for these functions? Thanks |

You cannot capture DV-AVI through USB... ONLY through firewire. It's analog
through USB. USB is designed really only for capture of still images... it's not fast enough for video and if you do manage to capture anything, it's usually full of dropped frames. Do yourself a favor and get a firewire card. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Printing & Imaging "GC" <GC@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0A2A6097-107E-415B-AEDE-14054E51347B@microsoft.com... >I have a Panasonic PV GS31 connected via USB 2.0 > > I am able to capture video but, there's a couple of issues: > > -When I select Configure\Video Settings I'm limited in size to 320x240. > -On the Video Setting screen I am unable to select DV-AVI (the radio > button > is grayed out) > -My device is listed as USB Video device (not Panasonic etc...) > -At the video capture screen I understand there are supposed to be buttons > below the preview pane for controlling my camera. That explains it...Thanks!
Any idea regarding the missing controls? Is this something that requires firewire also? "Cari (MS-MVP)" wrote: > You cannot capture DV-AVI through USB... ONLY through firewire.
