I need to burn a double layer (8.5GB) DVD for family and friends. I noticed
that double layer DVD+R is much cheaper than double layer DVD-R. Is one format more compatible with DVD players? Is one format more reliable or longer lasting? And is there anything else I need to consider? I'd rather not pay up for the double layer DVD-R if I don't have to. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks. -- TJ |

If you're talking standalone players, many do NOT play or recognize the dual
layer format DVDs. You can check at www.videohelp.com as to which players support which formats. I have 4 standalone players and NONE can see my DVD+R DL disks. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Printing & Imaging "TJ" <TJ@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:B10E56D8-D466-4EDE-B4F1-5A12D7E50FE1@microsoft.com... >I need to burn a double layer (8.5GB) DVD for family and friends.
