Default Capture, rotate, mirror and edit

Hi, all, I am new here. I am attempting to create a video of my HO scale
trains and need to get the camera lens down as close to 3/4 of an inch above
the table top as possible. That means turning the cameras both VHS/C and DVD
upside down.

I have just spent about 4 hours (with 9200 messages) looking through this
newsgroup and have found partial answers to my needs. Not knowing how to
phrase my question or how others have phrased theirs. If anyone can help, I
would appreciate it. So will what is left of my hair. (not much of that left
either) (G)

On a Win XP with plenty of HD space and memory.
I am using Studio Version 9 Quick Start for my capture program. I also have
Pinnicle Express available.
a Dazzle (USB) input device that no program, except Studio 9, seems to
recognize and an A/V selector for mulitple inputs TV and DVD and VHS

I want to video a movie upside down, rotate it 180 degrees mirror image it
to get printing and numbers correct, and then edit it.

I can capture the movie and save it to .mpg with Studio 9
Then I can import it, rotate and mirror it with Windows Movie Maker.
I need to convert it back to .mpg or .stu, so I can edit it with Studio 9
and output it to DVD.

I have tried AVS video Converter 4.1 and it won't accept the movie maker
format.
Studio 9 doesn't seem to want to open a .mpg, except the one that it saved,
even though it saves the video in that format when it saves the .stu file.
Studio 9 has no import feature that I have found
Am I missing something or do I need a different program?

Is there one program that will do what I really need?

The Dazzle does work in Studio 9, but all other programs claim there is no
input device connected, and I have not found any way to tell them that there
is.

The help file in Movie Maker does not give step by step instructions (which
this ID10T needs) to connect an input device such as the Dazzle. If anyone
can help me there, I think that Movie Maker will do all that I need.

If I have not supplied enough information or if anything is not clear,
please let me know and I will try to clarify it.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Default Re: Capture, rotate, mirror and edit

I think the answer is actually quite simple.
AVS Video converter WILL work for you but not if you simply "save" your
project since all that does is save a project file with a MSWMM extension.
This file is not a video file and that's why video converter doesn't
recognize it. You need to click on "Save to my computer" or hit CTRL+P to
save your movie as an AVI file and that you can import into AVS. There's
more detailed info on my website if you need it.
