Default PAL record but 30 frames

I gather there have been problems since SP2... but I haver just
recorded a PAL DV through my PAL Sony camera in a MM 2.1 that is set
(default to PAL), but while recording it said it was NTSC... The result
is a fine video, but the frame rate is 30 instead of 25.
This doesn'ty figure, ecept that my suibntitling software now
recoalculates the frame rate to put 30 frames in every second

What's up? Can I tweak the video to stop pretending to be NTSC?

Rgds
