Default Audio errors when sending to camcorder

I have imported a song to add to my edited video. I have changed to volume on
the video clips. I also split the imported music clip to change volume in
certain spots. When I play this on Movie Maker, it sounds just fine. However,
when I send it to my Sony DCR-HC40, the music restarts from the beginning of
the song at each split. I have retried several times, and have even started
over as a new project. Same results. Am I missing something here?...Plays
fine, records incorrectly. Thanks for the HELP!

This can often happen with audio file types that MM doesn't like, such as
MP3. If you have used this, convert it to WAV/WMV/WMA and try again.

Thank you so very much! I took your advice and it worked (I'm sure not to
your surprise). I am now able to stop pulling the hair out of my skull and
get this little flick accomplished on schedule. Thank you again!
