WMM used to be working fine.. i've made tons of movies. Then yesterday
(after about 1 1/2 mnths of no production), it won't save movies. I get an error window that pops up saying the following: "Cannot Complete the Save Movie Wizard" WMM cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verfiy that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that the saving location is still available, and that there is enough disk space available, and then try again." - Saving location is irrelevant (tried numerous file locations) - Source files are available - 40 gigs worth of disk space (have even tried saving very small movie files) - I tried disabling filters.... no luck. Only thing i can figure is that maybe a recent windows update is screwing it up... I have the Newest version of WMM from SP2 Any help out there? thanks in advance -- Movie Man |

Thanks Graham, but that didn't help.
He talks about the problem being that the movie file size is too large and the "Commit Charges" going over the limit of the computer. My commit charges are nowhere near peaking at the limit. Again, I can't even save a 1-clip / 1mb movie...... Nothing saves now.. It must be something else that's going on... I should mention that i imported a 500mb file into Collections before the problem started... I have since deleted it from Collections to see if that's what overloaded it... -- Movie Man "Graham Hughes" wrote: > Check out www.papajohn.org and the cannot save my movie piece. > > -- > Graham Hughes > MVP Digital Media > www.myvideoproblems.co.uk > www.dvds2treasure.com > www.simplydv.com > > > "Movie Man" <MovieMan@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:736A6233-F932-4E8E-8A8B-EF6B681F4522@microsoft.com... > > WMM used to be working fine.. i've made tons of movies. The 500mb file being in collections should not have an effect on saving a
movie so that isn't likely to be the culprit. One thing to try is to use System Restore to go back to a previous restore point. Make note of why the restore point was created (update, program installed etc...). If this fixes it then you at least know what, likely, caused the problem and hopefully you will be on your way again. -- Wojo's Place: http://wojos-web.tk Also Please visit..... http://www.remember-christopher.dost...m/christopher/ Dedicated in loving memory of our son Christopher Lee "Movie Man" <MovieMan@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F67BDDB9-D8F0-4A5D-8A4C-7E3AD02BA313@microsoft.com... > Thanks Graham, but that didn't help. > He talks about the problem being that the movie file size is too large and > the "Commit Charges" going over the limit of the computer. > > My commit charges are nowhere near peaking at the limit. > Again, I can't even save a 1-clip / 1mb movie...... I am having the same problem with not being able to save movies either to my
hard drive or to a C.D the answer I get is there is no C.D drive available and there is not enough room on the hard drive(80 gig free) and other programmes have no problem with the C.D drive. Please help as it is driving me insane. I still have the same issue. However, i have discovered that even though i
cannot save the movies in wmv format, i can save them in DV-AVI (NTSC) format... However, this makes for EXTREMELY large files (compare a 5mb .wmv file to a 75mb DV-AVI file). What the heck is going on here???!!! -- Movie Man "phill" wrote: > I am having the same problem with not being able to save movies either to my > hard drive or to a C.D the answer I get is there is no C.D drive available > and there is not enough room on the hard drive(80 gig free) and other > programmes have no problem with the C.D drive. hmmm, usually that is the other way around because the AVI file is larger
and more taxing on the system so if it is only WMV files you can't save we are likely looking at a codec issue. Check out this site to download codecs that work and will hopefully replace the possible bad ones. http://www.free-codecs.com/ "Movie Man" <MovieMan@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:3F8F779A-496F-4C35-A69C-04261EFF1123@microsoft.com... >I still have the same issue. This one is usually a problem with a filetype in your project such as using
an MP3 for audio or a MPG video file. What types of files are in your project? -Wojo "phill" <phill@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:87D35575-5905-46DD-AF53-E1C6C67C55EA@microsoft.com... >I am having the same problem with not being able to save movies either to >my > hard drive or to a C.D the answer I get is there is no C.D drive available > and there is not enough room on the hard drive(80 gig free) and other > programmes have no problem with the C.D drive.
