Default Importing recorded video saved via Media Center?

I'm very new to MM so please be gentle. I have recorded some programs on my
PC using Media Center and want to import them into MM. Under capture video I
can capture from device or import video. I have captured video from my Sony
Digital8 camera just fine and it looks like I can capture "live" TV with the
video card in the pc but how do I access a show (video) that I recorded? I
tried the "Import Video" but I don't know where Media Center stores recorded
programs or even the file ext used. Any assistance would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks for the info. It is certainly more complicated than I had hoped but I
will review the info from you web site and give it a try.
