Not sure if this has ever been documented before, here or elsewhere, but
I'll now share a "trick" I learned a few weeks ago. When editing video one can easily remove chunks (in my case TV commercial breaks) while working with the Timeline by splitting at the beginning of the "chunk", adding a second slip point at the end of the "chunk" - right clicking on the middle section and choose delete. One can work through, for example a saved TV program and edit out the adverts quickly and easily in this fashion before then dragging across the remaining portions for saving to disk. |

Spell checker messed that up, sorry - should have read
