On all of my computers (all are Win XP SP2), when I edit AVI files from my
MiniDV camcorder, the clips play fine in the Collections, but when I drag a clip to the timeline and play the timeline, the audio plays at HALF SPEED. On one of the computers, every other clip on the timeline goes half speed. On the other three computers they all go half speed. This happens with AVI files that I put on my computer a year ago and .mswmm files that I haven't touched in a while. These same files worked before but don't now. Other people have been having this problem recently, too: http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/Fo...x?PostID=31140 Any ideas? |

There are several different problems in that thread. Have you addd any
codecs, codec packs, other video/audio related software etc since it worked properly? -- Graham Hughes MVP Digital Media www.myvideoproblems.co.uk www.dvds2treasure.com www.simplydv.com "DaveMc" <DaveMc@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:FF4F3700-519C-4F89-B815-A0C8D89E9015@microsoft.com... > On all of my computers (all are Win XP SP2), when I edit AVI files from my > MiniDV camcorder, the clips play fine in the Collections, but when I drag > a > clip to the timeline and play the timeline, the audio plays at HALF SPEED. > On > one of the computers, every other clip on the timeline goes half speed. Yes, I am using AceMegaCodecsPack on all these machines.
I don't recall if I was using it when I copied these AVIs from my MiniDV camcorder and succcessfully did some video editing. If I was using it then, it was a different version. I don't recommend using codec packs as they can come full of crapware and
codecs which you don't need and can cause problems like this. Try system restore back to before it was installed. -- Graham Hughes MVP Digital Media www.myvideoproblems.co.uk www.dvds2treasure.com www.simplydv.com "DaveMc" <DaveMc@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:ED12614B-D697-46D5-9D8E-4A33D67F90E4@microsoft.com... > Yes, I am using AceMegaCodecsPack on all these machines. > > I don't recall if I was using it when I copied these AVIs from my MiniDV > camcorder and succcessfully did some video editing. I don't know how to set or return to restore points, but on two of the
machines I did uninstall AceMegaCodecsPack and suddenly almost everything works fine. The only codec I seem to be lacking now is DivX, so I got that from divx.com. The last remaining issue is that one of the machines, if I start a clip playing in the Collections, it doesn't show the video until I resize the playback window. I have to do this on each clip. It's a pain. Things work fine from the timeline, though. Any ideas? Thanks for your help! Could still be a codec issue with that. Have you updated the graphics
drivers for the card, from the manufacturer of the card? Also directx is the latest version.
