I just installed the two available creativity fun packs for Microsoft web
page. It ran through the installation after download, but I didn't see any
changes to the options I have available to me. For example, I notice people
rave about the COUNTDOWN feature...I've seen a Page Turn video effect on the
demo...but they just aren't available after the install. Do I need to import
something?

You need to import the countdowns and other clips into your collections.
They are really just short video clips for you to add to the beginning
and/or of your project just like you would with any of your own video clips.
They should have been installed to the "My Documents" folder on your
computer.
