Are you capturing via firewire? How many other applications do you have
running when you capture? Did you run a disk cleanup and defrag the
drive(s) just before capture?

you will definitely get your best results if you shut down EVERYTHING else
on your PC before importing. close everything in your taskbar, and it's
even a good idea (if you're comfortable with this) to do a cntrl-alt-delete
and close down as many background apps and services as you can. anything
that steals a little CPU time can cause your capture to skid and miss.
