Hello,
I've been having a problem with MovieMaker - the version installed on my machine is 2.0.3312.0 even though I've had SP2 installed for a while and regularly do the updates. MM opens fine, but I generally get an error when attempting to import video. Before you tell me some files won't open... I realize that. If I just move the error message off of the screen, I can continue to use MovieMaker with some success. It WILL NOT create clips anymore. When I import the video, I check the box at the bottom of the dialog box to have clips created automatically. When the single clip shows up in the window in MM, I right-click and again tell it to create clips. It reports 5 minites left at 2% finished, graduates to 14 minutes left at 26%, then finished rather quickly without creating any clips. I can't figure out what the problem with the program is. Don't have an idea why I haven't been bumped up to 2.1. Can't uderstand why the error allows me to continue to use the program to some degree. One thing I HAVE noticed - the MovieMaker error is ALWAYS followed by a 'fault bucket' entry in the event log. Each entry is followed by a different number. I've searched for the file "divxaf.ax" as suggested on Papa John's site, but it doesn't exist on my system. I reduced hardware acceleration and it seems to stop the errors as soon as I begin to use MM, but creating clips is still a thing of the past for me. If anyone could offer some help, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks! Mike |
