If it's a Firewire cable connection (aka i.LINK, aka IEEE1394) then simply
unplug it and then plug it back in - then it should get (re)detected. Otherwise what device/connection? Sorry, kinda vague on my question...
I have successfully used Sony Click to DVD to transfer VHS analog video to DVD. I now am trying to transfer old 8mm SILENT films to DVD by using an analog camcorder and a "shadow box" device (camcorder records 8mm projection). Since 8mm films are silent I want to add background music to video but Click to DVD has no feature to allow this. I've never used WMM, but in reviewing the program it looks as though it will allow user to add background music to captured video. Problem... when I click Capture Video, WMM tells me a capture device was not detected. My PC is a Sony VGC-RB43G which came with internal capture device which is how Click to DVD has worked successfully. I really need to uses WMM to take advantage of the background music feature. I've read similar threads where it has been stated that WMM does "not like" capturing analog signals. However, I really need it to. An help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. I'm afraid if yors doesn't it won't with the equipemnt you have. If this is
important, then invest in a decent analogue to digital converter, such as the advc range from canopus or miglia's offerings. Very good quality, vitually 100% success with audio/video sync, connects via firewwire, so MM will treat it as a dv device and capture as a dv-avi file, which is the easiest to edit. -- Graham Hughes MVP Digital Media www.myvideoproblems.co.uk www.dvds2treasure.com www.simplydv.com "cammy" <cammy@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E16ED0F9-4632-4FC1-B0B5-E8E80F121CF6@microsoft.com... > Sorry, kinda vague on my question... > > I have successfully used Sony Click to DVD to transfer VHS analog video to > DVD.
