Default Capturing DV from JVC miniDV

Thanks in advance for any help.

When capturing DV from the JVC using MM, I can fully control the DV from the
control screen in MM and when I start the capture the timer starts but no
video is actually captured. I have pretty much tried all the settings ...
manual capture, automatic, all filters on, all filters off etc and nothing
seems to work!

How are you connecting the camcorder to the computer?
Firewire is by far the best choice.

Yes, by firewire. And like I say my PC recognises the hardware and I can
control the DV device from my PC but can't capture video

Unfortunately device manager showing that teh device is working properly adn
XP recognising it doesn't neccessarlity mean it is all working properly
Can you test your cam and cable on another pc, and another cam and cable
that you know works on your pc.

That would be my next question as well, except maybe without the typos. ;-)
