Default Unable to record movies and sound problems

I get a very odd behaviour of MM: It's impossible to record movies on disk
even with verys small clips. The error message tell to check disk space then
the file to write is 60Kb!
An other problem is the defect of sound when I try to make movies longer.
The sound is correct for the clips but it does not play on the final movie.
I suspect a problem with codecs because thes pb appears after loading codec
to play divix in WMediaPlayer.
How to uninstal these codesc and get a clean installation?
Anyone can help me?
Thanks a lot in advance.

I read carrefully these pages very instructive. I did some additional test
and I evaluated that the problem occurs when I place movie clips or sound
tracks in the timeline. When I place only images (jpg, bmp), it's possible to
render the final file.
This issue occurs whether or not I use AVi or wmv files as output format.
This, and the reading of your pages, comfort me with the thought it's a
codec problem. How can I do to find the faulty?

the Problem Solving > Crashes and Hangs page of my site lists all of the
codecs that I know of that Movie Maker has problems with... check your
computer for them and take them out of the picture by renaming or using the
Compatibility tab of MM2.1.

Thanks a lot for your help. Effectively I found in these pages the answer. As
I thought, it was a codec problem. With the control panel (Control Panel >
System > Hardware tab > Device Manager button > expand Sound Video and Game
Controllers> Audio Codecs), I seen that 2 sound codecs was disabled
(Microsoft ADPCM and PCM converter fromMicrosoft). After enable these codecs
and restart MM2, it was OK.
My Conclusion: MM2 is a good tool but very touchy to setup and very sensible
to any settings of the system. But it's true we ask him much...
