I'm doing music video's and I'm having difficulties with getting my video
clips to sync up with the word's/lyrics of subject singing... Don't misunderstand me, it's possible but it is proving to be extremly difficult. Am I missing something, perhaps some sort of code when I'm shooting the clip so I can line it up more accurately with the audio track? Usually when I do get the clip to sync up, if I drop in a transition leading to the next clip it will somehow move the previous clip (that I just spent an eternity on) out of sync again.........maybe I need to upgrade to a more adequate program? Confused... Conkling Minstrel if you care to see some of my better attempts http://www.youtube.com/?v=a0IMU4tEpvI |

three words:
trial and error. seriously, as far as I know the only way to do it is exactly what you describe. expand your timeline to the maximum view (hit the little + sign as many time as it will let you) as this will provide the most detail in moving the audio. and as you noticed, don't bother fine tuning any audio until your done moving the video around. there is no way to lock the two separate tracks together until you actually render a movie. How are you getting the video in to the pc?
What sort of video is it? Digital or analogue? Firewire captured video should have audio and video in sync automatically. Or are you doing lip syncing of someone mimeing? -- Graham Hughes MVP Digital Media www.myvideoproblems.co.uk www.dvds2treasure.com www.simplydv.com "conkling minstrel" <conklingminstrel@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:20A6F8C4-7275-4107-8454-B9EFC5A8375B@microsoft.com... > I'm doing music video's and I'm having difficulties with getting my video > clips to sync up with the word's/lyrics of subject singing... > Don't misunderstand me, it's possible but it is proving to be > extremly > difficult. > Am I missing something, perhaps some sort of code when I'm shooting > the clip so I can line it up more accurately with the audio track? > Usually when I do get the clip to sync up, if I drop in a transition > leading to the next clip it will somehow move the previous clip (that I > just > spent an eternity on) out of sync again.........maybe I need to upgrade to > a > more adequate program? > Confused... > Conkling Minstrel > if you care to see some of my better attempts > http://www.youtube.com/?v=a0IMU4tEpvI > |

Agreed. The only other thing I can add is to suggest getting it all sync'd
and render it. Then import it again and clip it to add transitions. -Wojo "KDE" <knott_me@NOSPAM.hotmail.com> wrote in message news:OjH3Zt0%23FHA.2520@TK2MSFTNGP15.phx.gbl... > three words: > trial and error. > > seriously, as far as I know the only way to do it is exactly what you > describe. expand your timeline to the maximum view (hit the little + sign > as many time as it will let you) as this will provide the most detail in > moving the audio. and as you noticed, don't bother fine tuning any audio > until your done moving the video around. there is no way to lock the two > separate tracks together until you actually render a movie. > > "conkling minstrel" <conklingminstrel@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in > message news:20A6F8C4-7275-4107-8454-B9EFC5A8375B@microsoft.com... > | I'm doing music video's and I'm having difficulties with getting my > video > | clips to sync up with the word's/lyrics of subject singing... > | Don't misunderstand me, it's possible but it is proving to be > extremly > | difficult. > | Am I missing something, perhaps some sort of code when I'm > shooting > | the clip so I can line it up more accurately with the audio track? > | Usually when I do get the clip to sync up, if I drop in a > transition > | leading to the next clip it will somehow move the previous clip (that I > just > | spent an eternity on) out of sync again.........maybe I need to upgrade > to > a > | more adequate program? > | Confused... > | Conkling Minstrel > | if you care to see some of my better > attempts > | http://www.youtube.com/?v=a0IMU4tEpvI > | > > |
