No image shows in the preview pane on Capture but the video and sound are
recorded correctly anyway. The same problem occurs with Arcsoft Showbiz2. Windows Media Center plays back the captured video correctly but Media Player, Real Player and Quicktime will not. |

How are you capturing, from what, connected with what, and as what file
type? -- Graham Hughes MVP Digital Media www.myvideoproblems.co.uk www.dvds2treasure.com www.simplydv.com "Puzzled" <Puzzled@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:6F8A53A1-10A3-4F3E-8F6D-23D4513A132C@microsoft.com... > No image shows in the preview pane on Capture but the video and sound are > recorded correctly anyway. I am connecting my digital movie camera to my laptop (HP zd 8000) with a
firewire. I see no live video in the preview pane. and no video on playback of a tape in preview. However my laptop captures the video and audio correctly. The video is saved as an .avi file. Possibly important. I am viewing on a monitor (samsung syncmaster 914v) as my laptop screen went very dim (after 4 months - warranty 3 months!!!). Again I can play back the captured .avi in Moviemaker, Arcsoft2 and Media Center (but not in media player, real player, quicktime) Probably more than one problem?
